Neoexile is conceptually “I live without living in myself,” an extremely uncomfortable and uneasy way of seeing oneself in the world. This name came to me while photographing Emiliano Mora, my son. It was like giving birth to him all over again. His crystalline, sensitive, direct, and profound gaze imbued me with his spirit, which traverses neoexile. He grew up hand in hand with art, ventured to emigrate to northern European countries, and there he cultivated his neoexile. Exile being the separation of a person from their homeland or habitual place of residence, whether voluntary or forced, “neoexile in general refers to a form of exile characterized by expatriation due to economic, social, or cultural factors, often with a more complex approach than traditional exile.” It is the human being who carries their own home with them even though they lack a home, and who moves in all directions because they have no place that suits them. Without a place or a home, always moving toward nothingness, it is a burden, but the only way to reach more deeply what we humans are, our abyss of “the most disturbing.”List of works:
